These are the questions that come up in nearly every first enquiry we handle. We have put the answers here so that you can find them without waiting for a reply, and so that the answers are the same whoever you ask. If your question is not on this list, send it over — technical questions get answered the same working day.
Ordering and MOQ
Catalogue items start at 50 pieces per SKU. Branded and custom runs start at 500 pieces, because laser marking and colour changes carry a fixed setup cost that has to be spread across the run. MOQ can be blended across a bundle, so a first order of a mount, a supply and a cable can start at 50 sets rather than 150 pieces. We confirm which tier your specific mix falls into before you commit anything.
Samples and pilot runs
Samples of catalogue items ship free with your first order and are usually despatched within three working days. For a custom design, a single sample is not enough — it is hand-finished and it will not show you the variance of a real run. We recommend a paid pilot of 20 to 50 production units, which is also the batch that gives you realistic samples to sell from.
Lead time
Lead time is measured from pre-production sample approval, which is the only honest reference point. Catalogue production runs 10 to 20 days plus 2 to 3 days for inspection and packing. Custom tooling adds 15 to 25 days. Sea freight from Shenzhen adds 5 to 10 days to Europe and North America. A quotation that measures from the day you send the purchase order is hiding the approval step where projects actually stall.
Certification and compliance
CE, RoHS, REACH and FCC documentation where relevant, IP67 ingress reports on the cable and enclosure range, and salt-spray reports on the marine mounts. Every order ships with the report for the exact model sent, not a generic certificate. That document is what answers a marketplace compliance questionnaire and what supports a claim when a unit fails in the field.
Private label and packaging
Laser marking, custom colourways, custom labels, printed retail cartons and moulded inserts are all supported, from 500 pieces. Tooling ownership and amortisation are documented in the purchase order, and we will transfer the tool to you on final payment if you prefer to hold it. The box is the cheapest margin lever you have, and we will help design it.
Getting a quotation
Send the Starlink models you plan to support, the quantities, the destination country and any packaging requirement. You will have a feasibility assessment and indicative pricing back within one working day, with the MOQ tier named, the lead time broken into production and shipping, and the list of what can be customised. If your volume does not make a design work, we will say so at this stage rather than after the tooling is cut.
