Home & Residential Installations

Fixed home installs: where to mount, how to power it, and what matters when the installer is not coming back next week.

A permanent home installation is the easiest Starlink job and the one most often specified carelessly. The dish goes up once, on a roof or an eave, and it has to survive several years of weather without a second visit. The difference between a good install and a callback is entirely in the mount, the power run and the sealing of every cable entry.

Ce qui change dans ce scénario

What makes a home install different

  • The mount is permanent, so it is a drilled or clamped fix with a corrosion-resistant finish — no suction, no magnet.
  • The power run is usually mains with a single outdoor-rated run, not a vehicle supply.
  • Nobody is coming back in six months, so the sealing and the strain relief have to be right the first time.
  • The dish position is often constrained by roof geometry, so clamp range and tilt freedom matter more than on a vehicle.

Ce que vos clients vont demander

What the installer should confirm before ordering

  • Roof material and the correct fixings for it — a standard screw set is not appropriate for a metal or slate roof.
  • Clamp range versus the pole or rail diameter actually available on site.
  • Whether the run is mains or a DC supply from an existing circuit.
  • Cable length, including the service loop, versus the distance from the dish to the entry point.
  • Whether an enclosure is needed at the entry point, and whether it is indoors or outdoors.
